Security operatives dislodge criminal camp in Anambra, recovers stolen vehicles, other things

The joint security team in the Anambra state, led by the police, has dislodged a notorious criminal camp in Ogbunka, Orumba South Local Government Area,
The Joint Security Team comprising the officers of Anambra police command, Army, from the 302 Artillery Regiment (GS), Navy from the Naval Command, Department of State Security, Anambra State Vigilante, acting on information received over time dislodged a criminal Camp at Ogbunka after an intense gun battle with the criminal that lasted for about six-hour gun inside the bush.
In a statement signed by the Police
Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenna, noted that the Joint team also recovered a lot of relief materials like pots, foodstuffs and parts of dismembered suspected stolen vehicles.
Ikenga said that some of the criminals escaped with various degrees of bullet injuries inflicted on them during the gun battle
According to the PPRO "The Police-led Joint Security Team comprising the Army, from the 302 Artillery Regiment (GS), Navy from the Naval Command, Department of State Security, Anambra State Vigilante, acting on information received over time dislodged a criminal Camp at Ogbunka.
"The Joint Security Team in a six (6) hours gun battle with the armed criminals, due to its superior firepower diffused some explosives used as shields on the camp by the hoodlums.
" The team also recovered a lot of relief materials like pots, foodstuffs and parts of dismembered suspected stolen vehicles even as some of the criminals escaped with various degrees of bullet injuries inflicted on them.
"The Operatives have taken over the area to sustain security dominance aimed at addressing any untoward situation that may arise and to possibly arrest the fleeing suspects.
"Given the above, the Anambra State Police Command assured on behalf of other security agencies that the confidence reposed on her by Ndi Anambra and residents alike for the protection of lives and properties is not taken for granted." He added
In another development, the Commissioner of police Anambra police command CP Ikioye Orutugu has lauded the professionalism exhibited by the officers and men of the command deployed for the just concluded primary elections of the political parties in Anambra state.
The Commissioner who gave this commendation yesterday said he is happy the way the officers discharged their duties while highlighting the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism in law enforcement, especially during the sensitive and high-stakes event,
He urged a continued excellence among the officers in the performance of their duties adding that there are
still much work to be done to ensure a peaceful and secure environment, particularly during the campaigns and the main elections.
