Anambra police arrests two suspects over killing of 80 years old woman in Ihiala.

Anambra State Police Command has arrested has two suspects for allegedly killing an eighty years old woman Mrs Theresa Igbojionu in Umunwaji Ogboro Ihiala, in Ihiala local government area of the state .

Police equally recovered
a black CG motorcycle allegedly stolen from the deceased.

Anambra State Police Command, gave the names of the suspects as, Chidebere Igboanugo  and Emmanuel Ibeabuchi all male.

Ikenga said that the two suspects are from the same village in Ihiala with the victim , noting that late Mrs Igbojionu was tied on both the legs and mouth before she was murdered.

According to the PPRO "Today 8th April 2025, the Ihiala Divisional Police Station have in custody one Chidiebere Igboanugo and Emmanuel Ibeabuchi all males from Umunwaji Ogboro, Ihiala over the murder of an 80 years old woman. 

"The victim, late Mrs  Theresa Igbojonu of the same village was tied on both the legs and mouth before her murder. Meanwhile, a black CG motorcycle allegedly stolen from the deceased has been recovered. 

"Investigation of the incident has been ongoing since the receipt of the complaint on 2nd April 2025 by 11.30 pm. 

"Meanwhile, a Joint Security Team during a patrol in Ihiala had earlier arrested Chidiebere Igboanugo on 5th April 2025 when the deceased son sighted the stolen motorcycle being driven by the suspect along Ezego junction in Ihiala.  

"Upon interrogation of Chidiebere, the Security Operatives acted swiftly yesterday 7th April 2025 and arrested Emmanuel Ibeabuchi, whom Chidiebere mentioned as part of the gang that committed the crime. 

"Further information revealed that two other suspects known as Alla and Emeka, currently at large are part of their gang members.

"The Commissioner of Police has directed the immediate transfer of the Case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka for discreet investigation and urges the Operatives to intensify efforts in arresting the mentioned suspects that are currently on the run.

"The suspects would be charged to Court on conclusion of the investigations. He added.
