  Anambra Electricity Consumers Demand Unbundling Of EEDC As Officials Shun Meeting  BY NKIRU NWAGBO  Electricity consumers in Anambra state have called for the unbundling of the Enugu Electricity Development Company EEDC following epileptic power supply in the area. This is coming as the officials of the EEDC shunned the stakeholders meeting of consumers despite that they were duely invited for the program. Confirming their absence at the meeting the National Coordinator of Electricity Consumers Network ECRN Comerade Osita Obi;  "We invited them on time for this meeting because they are major players in this issue and they promised to come but they failed to attend our meeting and they did not tell us why they couldn't attend our meeting" he said.   NAFDAC Destroys  Over A Trillion Naira Fake Drugs  In Anambra  NKIRU NWAGBO,  The National Agency for Food Drug Administration and Control NAFDAC on Friday destroyed fake , counterfeit and substandard drugs to the tune of over N1 Trillion in Awka Anambra state capital. Among the items destroyed include analgin, tramadol and pediatrics pharmaceuticals which were stored in some prohibited areas or banned by the World Health Organization WHO . The drugs destroyed were product of the raid and closure of the Onitsha Bridge Head Drug Market and the Aba drug market in Abia state.   CP Orutugu Seeks Joint Efforts To Avert Future Truck Accidents In Anambra  NKIRU NWAGBO,  20/03/2025. In his bid towards taking proactive measures to avert truck accidents in the State, Anambra Commissioner of Police  CP Ikioye Orutugu has called  on  Federal Road Safety Corps and other relevant agencies to collaborate and implement necessary cautionary measures for the Drivers and Owners of trucks.  CP Orutugu made this call yesterday in his office when he received the Truck Union members.   Anambra Police Command arrests  5 suspected kidnappers , armed robbers . NKIRU NWAGBO, AWKA  Anambra Police command has arrests a total of five suspects in a case of kidnapping, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of firearm, In a statement signed by SP Tochukwu Ikenga the  Police Public Relations Officer to the Command said the Operatives recovered a locally made Beretta pistol and a suspected stolen vehicle from the suspects.
