Anambra Community Gets N140 M Empowerment As Ex - Council Boss Celebrates Crime Free Xmas .

The people of Onne Community in Orumba South local government area of Anambra state yesterday got empowered by gifts to the tune of N140 million from the Ezeakunne Foundation.

This is coming as the former local government area of Orumba South local government area Prince Nevill Sunday Uchendu celebrated a crime free Christmas celebration in the area this year .



A break down of the gift items include a Mercedes 911 tipper at the cost of N28 million given to a son of the community for business as well as four shuttle buses at the cost of N36 million and bags of rice and cash offers bringing the total sum to N140 million.

According to the Chairman and sponsor of Ezeakunne Foundation Nze Vincent Nwankwo; 



"By this time last year we had more than enough to go round and people were hopping that this year would be better " 

"But by this year's January dollar rose from N700 .00 per naira to N1,600 .00 per dollar there by affecting a lot of things and that accounts for the low key celebration of our foundation" 

"But this would not stop me from reaching out and touching the lives of my people Onne Community and I shall never be discouraged from doing what I can for God and humanity"



"The 911 tipper that you see is for one of our sons who needs it to work and take care of his family and you know that with this vehicle not only his family would feed  from it and that is what I call empowerment " 



"We also have four shuttle buses for transportation in order to engage our youths into  something meaningful and discouraged them from going into crime "



"We are also sharing bags of rice to our people because this is a festive season and no matter how small the number is it would definitely go a long way to put food on their resources tables " he said.

Also speaking the former Chairman of Orumba South local government area Prince Nevill Sunday Uchendu noted that what the foundation is doing is highly commendable addi that this has shown that people still have the milk of human kindness in them .




"I also commend Gov Charles Soludo for a crime free Christmas and New celebrations in Orumba South local government area and since we have not heard of any incident in our local government area " 

"What is happening here is phobia and nothing more and that is the phobia of the past because we have been talking to our youths and children to abstain from crime and thay have been listening to us and most of them have left the bushes to become useful to themselves " he noted .

A total of 17 Buildings have so far been marked for demolition in Uli Community in Ihiala local government area of Anambra state.   IPOB Suspends Sit At Home. The Indegeous People Of Biafra IPOB yesterday made a change of heart by suspending the proposed Sit At Home Order billed to commence on the fifth of November. Recall that the Director of Publicity for the body had earlier announced that it would commence a Sit At Home strike on the fifth of this month if it's leader Mazi Nnamd Kanu is not released unconditionally on the fourth of November.   Anambra Tribunal Strikes Out Maduka Petition. Four More May Withdraw. As Soludo , Uba Set To Inspect Materials . NKIRU NWAGBO. The Anambra governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Awka today stuck out the petition filed by the candidate of Accord party Dr Godwin Maduka. Similarly there indications that four more petitioners may withdraw their petitions against the victory if the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA following alleged internal challenges that has to do with the discrepancies between the political parties and their respective candidates. Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and his Enugu State counterpart, Dr Peter Mbah have pledged their solidarity and support to the administration and broad vision of the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Professor Benard Odoh.
