Soludo, Mbah  pledge support to UNIZIK new VC

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and his Enugu State counterpart, Dr Peter Mbah have pledged their solidarity and support to the administration and broad vision of the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Professor Benard Odoh.


Both Governors spoke Saturday morning during a courtesy call to the Vice Chancellor while attending the 13th edition Annual Zik Lecture Series holding at the Awka main campus of the university.


Governor Soludo represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyeka Ibezim expressed optimism that the new Vice-Chancellor will fulfill his plans for the institution.


Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah also commended the new Vice-Chancellor for his foresight and lofty visions for the university and promised the readiness of his government to partner with the institution to ensure a successful era.


He said he has no doubt in the capacity of the Vice-Chancellor to put the institution on a global map.


Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Odoh commended both governments for their roles in providing governance and assured  of the readiness and commitment of his administration to foster stronger ties and collaborations with relevant agencies and governments in driving its Disruptive Model development blueprint.

    Prof. Odoh I know will perform creditably in Unizik. He is a socialite. He believes in team work. And I believe he will make indelible marks in Unizik within his Five years in office. His appointment as the Vice Chancellor of the University is an opportunity that will further write the name of the University in the World records.

A total of 17 Buildings have so far been marked for demolition in Uli Community in Ihiala local government area of Anambra state.   IPOB Suspends Sit At Home. The Indegeous People Of Biafra IPOB yesterday made a change of heart by suspending the proposed Sit At Home Order billed to commence on the fifth of November. Recall that the Director of Publicity for the body had earlier announced that it would commence a Sit At Home strike on the fifth of this month if it's leader Mazi Nnamd Kanu is not released unconditionally on the fourth of November. According to the statement signed by its Director of Publicity Comerade Emma Powerful the body said that it has to call off the Sit At Home Order following the appeal by the elders in the South East coupled with the grave economic implications of the strike on the people.   Anambra Tribunal Strikes Out Maduka Petition. Four More May Withdraw. As Soludo , Uba Set To Inspect Materials . NKIRU NWAGBO. The Anambra governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Awka today stuck out the petition filed by the candidate of Accord party Dr Godwin Maduka. Similarly there indications that four more petitioners may withdraw their petitions against the victory if the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA following alleged internal challenges that has to do with the discrepancies between the political parties and their respective candidates. Also today the tribunal judges led by it's Chairman Hon Justice D Mohammed granted the Exparte Motions filed by Prof Charles Soludo of APGA and Sen Andy Uba of APCto inspect materials used during the November 6th governorship election in the area. Mercy Cynthia Mmesoma Obi, popularly known as Ada Jesus has died in an Abuja hospital of complications arising from kidney failure, few days after an encounter with Onitsha-based preacher, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, alias  Odumeje , inside his church. A video surfaced recently where the 27-year-old seriously sick young lady was taken to the pastor, to whom she went to seek forgiveness for her earlier comments, suggesting that his miracles were fake. But, the eccentric cleric boldly pointed out that he would not forgive her, and instead, laid more curses, including saying she would die of her sickness, as she lay on the floor, with her family members pleading her case.
