Anambra Police Command commences training and retraining of officers.

The Commissioner of Police,  Anambra Command CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has directed commencement of the  training and retraining of personnel in the command to  enhance  operational efficiency.

The Police Public Relations Officer,
in the state  SP Tochukwu Ikenga who gave this hint in a statement  yesterday said the aim for the training was to increase police knowledged and performance 

He reaffirmed that the training will further make the officers to be  discipline and create better relationships with the public.




According to the Commissioner "The training is in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, *IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD NPM*, and his vision of ensuring Police effective service delivery to the Nigerian populace. 



"The Capacity development exercise is mandatorily scheduled in batches for all personnel of the Command to relearn Police Duties, Police act and regulations, Musketry, Riot Drills, Foot Drills, Use of Firearms, and Human Rights, amongst others. 



"It shall further expose the Officers and men of the Command to modern-day policing strategies and acquire more skills in crime prevention strategies, and the protection of lives and properties which includes Schools, higher institutions, markets, Churches, and Private and government infrastructures in the State. 




The CP while emphasizing the need for professionalism and a better Policing system, he implored the trainees to make good use of this reorientation period to arm themselves with the basics of policing and become better officers.
