Ekwunife demands commercialization of local innovation. As Anambra invests N250M industrial park.

Senator representing Anambra Central District Iyom Uche Ekwunife has called for the Commercialization of local innovations and inventions to encourage local manufacturers. 


This is coming as the Anambra state government has so far invested over N250 million for the establishment of Automotive Industrial Park at Akwa - Ihedi -: Uga Communities in the area .


Ekwunife who is the chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology disclosed this at the opening ceremony of the National Innovation Workshop in Awka Anambra state noted that ; 


"Evidence from around the world has proved that research and innovation are necessary growth determinants which must work together to attain sustainable national growth and development.


"For instance innovation can be commercialized by firm's but in Nigeria only a small proportion of entrepreneurial start ups are engaged in radical innovation.


"In this era of rapidly changing technology and reduced product life cycles, a country"s ability to develop and successfully commercialize innovation has become a key competitive strength "


According to Gov Charles Soludo of Anambra state, "Science and Technology Innovation must be mainstreamed by the National Assembly to help jump start the process "


"Already we in Anambra state have so far spent over N250 million to establish the Automotive Industrial Park at Akwa Ihedi and Uga Communities and part of our vision is to make Anambra state the Digital tribe of Nigeria and it is important to note that these local innovations and inventions cannot grow if we don't patronize them"


Speaking earlier the former Senate President Chief Anyim Pius Anyim noted that; 


"The future I am talking about is not a distant one . You should expect some of the above imperatives to dominate our world as early as the next five years.


"Our world has certainly changed with the infusion of fourth industrial revolution and in a very short while from now , talents and innovations are going to be the only dependable capital assets: he said.

  IPOB Suspends Sit At Home. The Indegeous People Of Biafra IPOB yesterday made a change of heart by suspending the proposed Sit At Home Order billed to commence on the fifth of November. Recall that the Director of Publicity for the body had earlier announced that it would commence a Sit At Home strike on the fifth of this month if it's leader Mazi Nnamd Kanu is not released unconditionally on the fourth of November.   Anambra Tribunal Strikes Out Maduka Petition. Four More May Withdraw. As Soludo , Uba Set To Inspect Materials . NKIRU NWAGBO. The Anambra governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Awka today stuck out the petition filed by the candidate of Accord party Dr Godwin Maduka. Similarly there indications that four more petitioners may withdraw their petitions against the victory if the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA following alleged internal challenges that has to do with the discrepancies between the political parties and their respective candidates.   Ada Jesus dies at 27 in Abuja hospital days after an encounter with Odumeje. Mercy Cynthia Mmesoma Obi, popularly known as Ada Jesus has died in an Abuja hospital of complications arising from kidney failure, few days after an encounter with Onitsha-based preacher, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, alias  Odumeje , inside his church. A video surfaced recently where the 27-year-old seriously sick young lady was taken to the pastor, to whom she went to seek forgiveness for her earlier comments, suggesting that his miracles were fake. But, the eccentric cleric boldly pointed out that he would not forgive her, and instead, laid more curses, including saying she would die of her sickness, as she lay on the floor, with her family members pleading her case.
